RMHF Championship Weekend Information - AA and A Divisions

Dear Rocky Mountain Hockey Federation Members,

We hope this message finds you well. We are thrilled to be hosting the AA and A divisions of the upcoming tournament on February 9, 10 and 11, 2024, and we are looking forward to a weekend filled with exciting hockey action.

Here are some important details and reminders for all participating teams:

1. Tournament Dates and Divisions:

        • The tournament will take place from February 9th through 11th in Colorado.

        • Both AA and A divisions will be featured in the event.

2. Early Start on Friday:

        • All teams must be ready to play on Friday, starting as early as 7:00 am.

3. Local Teams on Thursday, Feb 8th:

        • Local teams may have games scheduled on Thursday, February 8th, in the evening.

4. Seedings via RMHF Myhockeyrankings:

        • RMHF Myhockeyrankings will be used for final seedings in all divisions.

        • Please note that the rankings as of January 31st will be considered for seeding.

5. Responsibility for Myhockeyrankings:

        • It is the responsibility of each team to ensure that all their games are correctly included in Myhockeyrankings. www.myhockeyrankings.com

6. Guaranteed Games for Out-of-State Teams:

        • All out-of-state teams are guaranteed four games over the weekend.

7. Consolation Games for Local Teams:

        • Local teams that are eliminated from the playoffs may have additional consolation

games scheduled.

        • It is mandatory for these teams to participate in the consolation games.


Additionally, please note the following details for specific divisions:

• 10UA Division:

• Consists of 3 championship divisions (Platinum, Gold, and Silver).

• Single elimination format with consolation games for out-of-state teams (in the

event teams are eliminated from playoff bracket).

• 10UAA Division:

• Consists of 1 championship division (Platinum).

• Single elimination format with consolation games for out-of-state teams (in the

event teams are eliminated from playoff bracket).

• 12UA Division:

• Consists of 2 championship divisions (Platinum/Gold).

• Single elimination format with consolation games for out-of-state teams (in the

event teams are eliminated from playoff bracket).

 • 12UAA Division:

• Consists of 1 championship division (Platinum).

• 3-game round-robin format, semi-final, and final with consolation games for out-of-

state teams (in the event teams are eliminated from playoff bracket).

• 14UA Division:

• Consists of 2 championship divisions (Platinum/Gold).

• Single elimination format with consolation games for out-of-state teams (in the

event teams are eliminated from playoff bracket).

• 14UAA Division:

• Consists of 1 championship division (Platinum).

• 4-game round-robin format, semi-final, and final.

• 16UAA Division:

• Consists of 1 championship division (Platinum).

• 3-game round-robin format, consolation game, and championship game.


Final Championship Weekend Schedule: The schedule will be created following the final Myhockeyrankings on January 31st and will be published to all participating members no later than Friday, February 2nd.


League Efforts for Out-of-State Teams: The league will try to schedule all out-of-state teams to play championship bracket games in the Denver/Metro Area to minimize travel for those teams.


Consolation Game Location: Please note that consolation games are not guaranteed to be within the Denver Metro Area and may be scheduled outside this geographic.


RMHF Championship Weekend Rules and Regulations: These will be published on the RMHF website when available and can be found at www.rockymountainhockeyfederation.com. We appreciate your cooperation and attention to these details, as they are crucial for the smooth and fair conduct of the tournament.
